Pam Steager is an independent writer, consultant, trainer and project manager with 40 years of experience in the education, prevention and human service fields, primarily in the prevention of substance abuse, family and community violence; cultural competence; and media literacy.
She is a graduate of the Felton Media Literacy Scholars Program taught by Renee Hobbs, and has facilitated media literacy workshops for thousands of educators throughout the country. In 2001, she wrote and received one of ten federal grants for media literacy programs that resulted in the three-year Media SmART! Project in Providence Public Schools, which she directed.
Most widely known in Rhode Island for her column “That’s What She Said” in the Providence Phoenix, Pam has also worked in radio and television, acted in community theater, and performed as a storyteller and stand-up comedian.
