Elizabeth Rowell, Liz, is a recent professor emeritus of the School of Education and Human Development at Rhode Island College where she was asked to create and teach a General Education Course on Multicultural Views of Same Sex Orientation and Transsexuality  for upper level undergraduates. In this course she also enhanced the students’ use of and understanding of media in different ways. She was actively involved in in the first eleven Northeast Media Literacy Conferences and uses media in the presentations she gives about books about Transgender Children that she collects and studies. Prior to being on the RIC faculty she taught at all different grade levels in nine different countries which enhanced her understanding of others.
