Brien Jennings has been the Library Media Specialist at the Narragansett Elementary School in Narragansett, Rhode Island for the past 14 years.  During that time, he has established a makerspace and filmmaking program in his media center. Students learn the basic skills of film production, from the language of film, to basic framing and composition, to editing.  They use these skills to work on structured class assignments, as well as self-directed projects, where they are allowed to experiment and explore different forms of filmmaking.

In addition to his work in education, Brien has worked at every level of media production; from corporate events and commercial video, to broadcast news, film, print, and radio. He is currently the principal photographer for the independently produced Facio: Create program and has helped produce three seasons of the PBS program, Antiques Alley. Having worked on several independent film productions and produced or contributed to several short and long form documentaries, Brien has also nearly a decade of experience as a broadcast news photojournalist and editor.
