Bill Densmore is a recognized leader at studying and defining the new media ecosystem. A career journalist, publisher and tech entrepreneur, he is a former board member of the Action Coalition for Media Education, and co-convened the “Rebooting the News” conference at Temple University in 2008, which brought together working journalists with media-literacy educators.  Densmore is also a founder of the Information Trust Exchange Governing Association, a nonprofit seeking to create a shared-user network for privacy, identity and information commerce on the web.  As a director of Journalism That Matters Inc., a Seattle-based NGO, he is studying ways journalists might help the public to identify and accurately assess the trustworthiness of so-called “fake news.”  He is a research fellow for the Donald W. Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri and is based in Williamstown, Mass.
